Who Can Apply?

National Testing Agency specifies the detailed NEET 2020 eligibility criteria which have to be met by every medical aspirant wishing to appear for the entrance test. The eligibility criteria are the conditions and guidelines pertaining to the qualifying exam, pass percentage, nationality, age limit, number of attempts and such. NEET eligibility 2020 is based on the Graduate Medical Education, 1997 which was last amended in 2018. While earlier there were restrictions on age limit and subjects as well as the type of school, all those restrictions are now removed. The upper age limit criterion has been removed from the eligibility of NEET as has been the clause of open school students not being eligible. Candidates who have studied from an open school or have biology as an additional subject are now eligible to apply for the exam. NEET is the entrance exam for admissions to MBBS, BDS, Ayush and other medical courses.   • For the entrance examination Citizens of India, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), Non- Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and foreign nationals are eligible

  • It is mandatory for candidates to be at least 17 years of age as on December 31, 2020

  • The candidates appearing for the examination must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam or are pursuing the same are eligible

  • In class 12 qualifying exam aspiring candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subjects

  • Qualifying marks is different category-wise as mentioned below

  1. Unreserved – 50%

  2. Other Backward Class (OBC)/Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST) – 40%

  3. Persons with Disability (PwD) – 45%
